1.) My favorite media is undoubtedly the internet. I am always on it, whether it be on a computer, my laptop, or my phone. I use it problably 6-10 hours a day. I use it for everything, from checking emails, listening to music, watching TV shows that I've missed, to do homework, amongst other things.
2.) In terms of rules governing cell phone/social network usage at home, I don't think there should be any rules for that. At home you should be able to be as free as your want to be (unless you're a child, you must follow the rules of your parents).
I have seen enough rules about using cell phones in school ti know that for the most part, they don't work. People generally pull out their phones as their teachers are talking and text away. It is very hard not to, but at the very least people should have the common courtesy to not do it blatenly in front of the instructor's face. The only way I was forced to not even pull out my phone in class was when having a teacher who continuosly took points off our grades for having it out.
As it pertains to social networks my thing of it is this...they are security and privacy settings for each user, so essentially you control what you want to be seen by the public. You cannot stop people from saying what they want, or posting for that matter, so rules in that way I don't really see the sense of.

1)My favorite media is my iphone. I can do everything on my iphone i can play games I can watch movies and go on the internet any were i want and i can use my phone to give off internet signals.
2) I dont feel like there should be no rules governed for cell phones or social networks in schools. The world is moving to fast. The only thing that should be not allowed is talking on the phone.
3) I have meet someone face to face from meeting them online and its like u talk to them so much online that wen you meet them it seemed like you already new them the only thing that is weird is like the first time when you see them like there height n size and what they wear. Sometimes they have looked just like there pictures and sometimes they havent.
1. My favorite media is the internet, because I can do almost anything on it. I can check my email, chat with my peers, look up information, and many other things. I use it throughout the day and night, because my cell phone has the internet on it and I have a laptop.
2. I really do not think there should be any rules for cell phone and social network usage at home, because you are in your private area to do what ever you want.
3. Yes, I have met someone face to face after meeting them online and I liked it. It actually seem like we knew each other for a while.
1. My favorite media I enjoy are the social networking sites such as face-book, twitter, yahoo messenger and BBM (Blackberry Messenger). I’m always on the social network sites majority of the time because it is where I get my entertainment news, gossip, upcoming events notifications and also get to converse with friends and family. Many of my high school friends attend different universities, so we use face-book to stay connected to one another. I use the social networking sites mostly on my cellular device because I do not own a personal computer. It becomes much easier to use on the phone because I’m always on the go, but if I do by chance get to use a computer I don’t get off of it unless I have checked my face-book and twitter accounts.
2. Some rules I would like to see at schools concerning cell phones and social networks is the usage in classrooms. Some individuals have smartphones such as droids, I-Phones, and BlackBerrys’ which are similar to computers, so if a student can bring a laptop to class cell phones should be able to get brought and used in class as well.
3. Yes, I have met someone face to face after meeting them online. My experience began with asking a cute guy to be my friend on my-space. I was very attracted to him by his pictures and mainly by his profile picture. He immediately responded to my friend add and we began chatting on my-space for hours. We talked on my-space that entire day and eventually exchanged numbers. After weeks of talking on the phone we both felt as if it was time for us to meet face to face and decided to meet one another at the bus station downtown. After the moment of truth we hugged each other and began to talk as if we knew each other for years. That same day we began dating and we dated for a year in a half.
1.] My favorite media is most definitely the internet. I am almost always on my laptop, surfing the net. The internet makes life sooo much easier :). I can access music, check my email, network, watch television shows, and even video chat with my friends in different areas.
2.] I strongly disagree with the idea of governing cell phone/social network usage at home. Everyone has the freedom to do what he/she pleases, especially in the comfort of their home. In terms of cell phone usage in school, I feel that technology is well-over advanced, to the point where most cell phones have applications that allow access to everything a computer does. in this case, students should be allowed to use their phones in class to take notes, research, etc.
3.]Yes, I have met someone face to face after meeting them online and the experience was intereseting because it's like I knew the person for years.

My favorite media is internet. I use the internet for everything in my life. Whether its google, music, Facebook, or twitter, my life involves the internet everyday. Im constantly on the internet during my daily life.
What rules would you like to see at home or school governing use of cell phones, & social network?
I feel that the children should not be able to use their phones during class. But I do not think that social networks should be blocked in the school systems.
Have you ever met anyone face to face after first meeting them online? If so what was your experience
Not that I can remember
1. My favorite media is the Internet. With the Internet, I have access to my other interests such as social networks and shopping. Being that I can access the Internet from my phone, I can say that I spend at least 85% of my day on the Internet. My emails come straight to my phone, I have widgets for my social networks for convenience, I even have a shotcut for my blogs on my phone. Being that it is so easy to access the Internet, that is my favorite and most used media.
2. I think that as far as school goes, there should be a limit on the access that students have to social networks, whether it be from a computer or phone. Nowadays phones can be a huge distraction in the classroom, but on the other hand it can be a great asset. The capabilities of these phones are so complex that it is hard to put an actual restriction on their use. At home, I don't think there should be any restrictions because you are in the comfort of your own home and there is no harm being done. Of course, if freedom is abused and it becomes an issue than it is the decision of the parent of how the computer and phone is regulated.
3. When I first got accepted to Claflin I got a lot of friend requests from students who also going to be attending Claflin. Whe I came to school, mostly everyone looked how they did on their pages, and nothing was new other than me actually getting to know them on a more personal level.
